Silently frightened ;the world howling; lacerated dreams, smothering reality wounding the corpses. Costume as a veil blocking thoughts. Dismembered tender age absolutely sorely buried, blind eyes that can't see. Trapped in cruelty unconstrained, dense of the tangible life. Devouring, unflagging, mechanical, The stars who disappear evanescent from invisible eyes.
The final piece express the narrative of coming of age. Using my childhood memories to base my project on such as Andrew Milnes novels; the garment expresses the conflict between child's dreams represented by the little bear holding a blue air balloon, this imagery comes from the original novels where Winnie the Pooh uses the balloon to fly to the summit of the Honeytree.
Placing the balloons on the deconstructed jacket is a way to express the idea of tender age dreams crushed by the corporal world, represented by the costume. The silhouette shape uses the sleeve of the jacket to hide the head and the eyes of the person symbolizing the blindness of the mind, the alienation of our thoughts in today's society.
The dreams from our youth is in visible from the front all you can see is the head trapped in the costume, this creates a hybrid between an adult and a child : unable to function in our society, conflicted between lost dreams and inadaptation to a traditional working environment. Where the workers are dehumanized, wearing identical costumes, acting like puppets.

We then created a garment using both jackets. I decided to use to bright blue lining to emphasize the top half of the body and create an interesting contrast with the black bottom of the silhouette. I used the prints of the jacket in a more subtle way to make it less loud on the body, the back band was used as a strap to maintain the garment structure.

J&J Crombie Ltd. is a British fashion company, which produces high-end clothing and accessories under its Crombie brand.
My tailored jacket is from Crombie its a famous british tailor based in Mayfair. My jacket is costume made indeed this brand does not sell in shops. I imagine this jacket belonging to a sophisticated man in his mid fifities, always elegant it makes me thing of a member of british aritocratie. The jacket is also very detailed and and subtly ornemented with a texture that creates stripes on the front and back panels as well as on the collar.

Practicing fashion illustration today again was very fun, I love coming up myself or learning from my tutors or my peers, new ideas to express myself on the page. I am beginning to be more confident with my fashion illustrations working with collage ,continuous lines and mark making.
I liked this double page representing my drapping experimentations, mixing color pencils, pastel... etc. Involving mark making in various ways; however everything on the page worked well because it was done in a monochrome of blue.

We were paired up to create sculptures using two different jackets, the other jacket was extremely colourful and printed; It created a really interesting contrasting effect with my elegant tailored and serious jacket. I like using brading to connect the different pieces of the two garnement together, visually the end result looked pleasing, like a colourful nest made out of fabric.
